As a little girl, my mother taught me that
the most precious belongings should be kept under protection from the outside
evil: the newest dress was to be worn only on special ocassion, shiny shoes
shouldn't be worn in dusty places and the finest jewelry should be protected
from the direct view of indiscret visitors.
And either saddly or happily, something of
that old, annoying habit has stuck with me, inside of my insidious, quirky
brain and it sometimes show up in my daily life.
Chance had fallen over me last summer, on
a contest on Twitter, but the epicness of Romania's shipping
system failure reached me soon after. Nevertheless, I insisted on getting them
home, next to me, and with the help of a friend currently residing in the US, I
got them home, safe and sound.
As my above mentioned quirk requires, I
stored them for safe keeping and have only worn them once, on my 18th birthday and them left them alone in a drawer
under my bed.
Finally, this morning I realised that they
had the genes of stars, so here they are, shining away in the spotlight!
love them :)
