Finding your perfect place is sometimes extremely hard and maybe sometimes it never happens: like finding true love. I have to say that I am one of the incredibly happy ones, for so many reasons, including finding the perfect place: a bistro in the heart of Oradea, named Lactobar Retro-Bistro. It has the perfect combination of comfort, decor, good food/drinks/sweets, music and the overall vibe is genuinely great! Also, for those that know my obsession for cow spots and cow-inspired decorations, they can understand how appealing this particular bistro is for me.
The most remarkable aspect of it is the retro decorations: deco-cow art lays on the walls like a true American inspired diner and the menus are not too far from that. The front cover displays a 3D cow image.
The decorations and original ideas displayed on the walls are quite appealing. I especially noticed the "Free Airguitar", the "Ileana" Sewing Machine and some old Romanian newspapers displayed accordingly. I also adored the lightning aspect, as the lamps were made out of old records, bicycle wheels and so many more. Another interesting part was the bathroom hallway, which presented a variety of male/female bathroom stall decorations and vintage lingerie was displayed above our heads.
Besides the decorative part, I must say that the food is simply delicious. I have never tasted fast-food prepared in a healthy way that tasted this good! Also, the ice-cream/budding/whipped cream desserts we tried were to die for and the lemonade was similar to the Nectar of the Gods. All of this for amazingly good paced prices.
Since I have never been so in love with a place, I cannot wait to revisit Oradea and, most of all, Lactobar Retro-Bistro!!
