One handsome pooch

The Shoe Pendant

My dear darlings, it's been a while since I last posted. And I truly apologize for that. However, I'm here to make it up to you by showing one of the most personal posts I have to offer. Ever. This is my best-friend, my companion for almost 13 years and my little angel: Oli. Not to be too sappy or cuddly, I have to say that this little creature has been here for worse and for better, much more than a spouse would.

I always wanted a puppy, like any kid back then, so when a coworker of my mom announced her dog had given birth to 4 adorable white little doggies, I somehow managed to convince my mom to get this little piece of fluff for me. I was entering 1st grade and as I'm approaching my high school graduation, I have to say that she has been the sister I never wanted my mom to give me. All the fun and smooshiness without the extra care.

She's also one heck of a beauty and a lady. She never bites, she barks like a mad man when she doesn't like something and she acts like a true queen. Not a princess, a queen. She's also wearing make-up. No, don't think of me as a complete nut job, just take a look at her perfectly contoured eyes and her lovely pink muzzle.

All in all, she's been my companion for so much time now, I believe it was time for someone to give her some credit. After all, a dog is a man's best friend.

Some Gentlemen and their sons

 photo DSC_0109_zps8d24566b.jpg

Some Gentlemen and Their Sons... Or the story of an unplanned outfit. You might also learn to remember it as the tale of how you should never pack light.

So how does the telling go? Well, this Friday, I arrived in Bucharest to spend some quality time with Prince Charming and relax a little bit. We were planning to go to some museums but, thanks to me forgetting my ID home and bad weather, we ended up in a calm and retro pub in the Old Center of Bucharest, called, as the title suggests: "Some Gentlemen and Their Sons". The place is very nice, it has reasonable prices and I suggest you pay them a visit in case you take a stroll through the capital of Ro.

But the tale's moral wasn't this, but the fact that if it weren't for my hoarding-like packing, I would have been obliged by the situation to either go out in a skirt and heels or face the world in my sweats. Because, yes, it was raining! So from now on, in case you are not required by law (there would be ways around that too), never pack light!

How to feel good: A lady's guide

The Shoe Pendant

Hello, my darlings! It's been two days since I showed you how I created my first batch of perfect Vanilla Meringues and I do hope some of you tried it and were as delighted as I was. Now, I'm enjoying myself by writing this post, checking some online reading and then I'm off to get up to date with my real-life reading. All while indulging in a big glass of wine ( you know the one Jules has in Cougar Town ?) and wearing my favorite pair of heels, which are, coincidentally, the same ones I am wearing in this post. Why am I telling you what I'm wearing and doing right now? It's because it's one of the things I find pleasure in: dressing up while I'm in the house and pretending to be a countess ( blame my favorite dark countess, Ana Morodan, for this). I think it's every little girl's wish to be a princess, we just develop on the way. So is this different from dressing up with a tiara? So here are my pieces of advice to you...

Simona Semen Pre-fall 2013

The Shoe Pendant

Every time I check my e-mail in the afternoon, I find a newsletter from my favorite shop, some news from another and occasionally, a new collection brought up from some of the best designers. I adore surfing their look books, imagining how I would wear and pair them. This morning, one of these not so rare events happened: I got a little announcement about Simona Semen's first Pre-fall collection. Since many of you know how much I love her creations ( you can see last year's fall collection here), this one came just perfectly, as it is one of my favorite so far!

I adored ( and currently adore) the peplum trend, but Simona's creations are as structured as they are fluid and romantic. They are made with carefully controlled volume, textured insertions and extremely interesting fabric mix and matching. The patterns she used are so urban chic and also luxurious.

My favorite piece so far is the blouse/skirt. I love how the lower part of the top is a little bit peplum-like, but the many layers make it look like a flower in spring. I cannot wait to see it in her online store! Maybe it will be my first designer investment!

The savage blogger comes clean + Fashezine

Photobucket

I'll start with apologizing for being so inactive lately , but it's been hectic ! I have finished all of my finals and stuff ,leaving only a couple of pending grades to be solved, which won't be too hard. So,in the near future,my time won't be filled up with anything too demanding that will not let me do lovely posts .
And about posting, this morning I was reading the Stylish Thought and this article popped up and made some mechanisms in my brain work more than usual . Am I a savage blogger ? Am I just using this blog as a method of attracting followers ? I think not and I don't want to end up as someone (as famous as it can get) that just does it for the money. I've owned just a couple of blogs so far, each time dedicated entirely to it . I've written my true feelings in my blogs,my unstained opinions on everything . So what's happened now ? I think it's just that it feels rewarding to see that someone is interested in what you do ,the sense of approval and the surrounding with people that like you (that is why the usually follow someone).
And this ,what I like to see in myself , I have found in Ioana from Fashezine . She writes these incredibly lovely posts ,usually like stories with a moral layer. And she is incredibly fashionable too . I don't really like this word, but it's probably the best one for her.
I adore her style , it's so feminine (I don't think I've really seen her wearing trousers) and she uses this calming colors (even if it's about fuchsia and neon-yellow) . Also, look at her shoes and perfect red hair.
I wouldn't stop talking about how nice she is and how amazing she dresses.
Remember my inspiration top ? She's somewhere at the top , because ,as much as I love her style,I don't really think I am capable of wearing similar clothes with the same success .

Andy and the StyleScrapbook

Photobucket

There are those people that you never knew existed but one day, just for an instant , they wow you and their image remains forever in your life. So is Andy , from StyleScrapbook . She's the winner of the Mango competition and I would love to congratulate her because she really deserves it . I didn't really notice her blog that much until this contest and now I am deeply in love with what she does . Her style is really amazing and I can say that after reading almost her entire blog archive . And her evolution is quite impressive.

Finding your style

Photobucket

Finally some time in front of the computer for something else than writing essays . I came back to Giurgiu on Sunday and I'm still trying to get back to my usual sleeping schedule. Loved the EYP. More details in the next post ,since I don't have all photos now .
By the way , these are photos of some chocolates I made for my friends : they're dark chocolate with mint and poppy.
You probably remember that in my last post I was talking about a great source I use for inspiration : Chiara . But how could I use inspiration properly , not copying her style , if I didn't have my own . I am not going to lie and say that I have already developed a style of my own . I still search and still make mistakes. I probably love a mix of elegance and laziness , but no one will be surprised if I show up wearing sport's tights and sneakers . I usually wear discrete make-up , just some shaddows in the proper places. But I sometimes exagerate and wear tons of make-up , because I am somehow of an excentric.

Inspiration

Photobucket

Some ask where I get my inspiration from. I ask myself where I get my inspiration from . My inspiration comes from happiness , from light , from just being at peace with myself. And I feel inspired when I see that other people thrive and are happy . I don't know why , but it makes my day to see someone smile.
One of the things that inspire me is blogging. No , not my blogging, but seeing someone else's blog . And you know why ? Because you only see happy faces , nice clothing and tons of ideas. One of the blogs that inspires me the most is Chiara's : The Blonde Salad. You're probably read about a dozen articles on her , but I have not chosen her for her absolutely amazing style (she has great style , I would never dare be against ) , but for the fact that she makes life as if it were seen through shades of pink . She's a beautiful person, always smiling and with the perfect boyfriend. She's always traveling around the world with all these projects (something like my dream life) and it feels good to know that what you want and dream about is actually quite possible .
So thank you , Chiara , for being such a great inspiration !<3
