As I was saying last week, on Friday I attended the so coveted Digital Divas' second edition, which took place at the Biavatti lounge (an extremely beautiful location if I might add). I met with old friends and got some new ones. I also finally met Irina, the owner of Add some style, who is, guess what, from the same town as me. We had the chance to chat a little bit and enjoy together all the lovely speakers. I'll also do something that I don't usually do, and present some of my favorite speakers with what they said.

Or actually Ambassador, but I like to give myself more posh-ness with some French name.

But yes, I am a Digital Divas Amabassador and I am now going to tell you what exactly this lovely event is about and why my keen interest in it.

Bande a Part

Hello, lovely birds! How have you been during this lovely Spring weather? Have you been travelling or relaxing yourselves as you should? Or are you planning your future trips as we speak? If so, I have the destination for you!

I was tellin you a while back (here) about how amazing Craiova is and the many places I saw during my stay there. After spending a whole week in Le boulevard, my dearest Catalina showed me a little piece of Heaven called Bande a Part *heart,heart,heart*. As you can see, it's the fashionista paradise, with walls filled with fashion in it's greatest form: the magazine.

What do I love so much about it?

I have to say that I love, most of all, the atmosphere. I saw a lot of boheme people, smoking their cigarettes and cigars while talking about arts (yes, I eavesdropped, oupsy), a couple of actors and models and even one famous photographer (Catalina told me he was and I believe her. I cannot, by all means, remember his name!).
I also adored the decor. Everything was white, "sprinkled" with vintage items, such as an old phone and wooden white chairs. La pie de resistance was, of course, the wall filled with magazines. I recognised some of the latest issues of Haarper's Bazaar, but also retro Vogue numbers.
Another thing I fell for? (There are countless anyway, no need for numbering) The alcohol tea! I drank Irish Tea for the first time in my life. It was no surprise I loved it, as I also adore Irish Coffee so much. But yes, tea just got into a whole new dimension of awesomness for me!

One handsome pooch

My dear darlings, it's been a while since I last posted. And I truly apologize for that. However, I'm here to make it up to you by showing one of the most personal posts I have to offer. Ever. This is my best-friend, my companion for almost 13 years and my little angel: Oli. Not to be too sappy or cuddly, I have to say that this little creature has been here for worse and for better, much more than a spouse would.

I always wanted a puppy, like any kid back then, so when a coworker of my mom announced her dog had given birth to 4 adorable white little doggies, I somehow managed to convince my mom to get this little piece of fluff for me. I was entering 1st grade and as I'm approaching my high school graduation, I have to say that she has been the sister I never wanted my mom to give me. All the fun and smooshiness without the extra care.

She's also one heck of a beauty and a lady. She never bites, she barks like a mad man when she doesn't like something and she acts like a true queen. Not a princess, a queen. She's also wearing make-up. No, don't think of me as a complete nut job, just take a look at her perfectly contoured eyes and her lovely pink muzzle.

All in all, she's been my companion for so much time now, I believe it was time for someone to give her some credit. After all, a dog is a man's best friend.

Weekend tidbits

Having your dream come true a.k.a. buying the perfect camera, has some perks. For example, I now never leave the house without it, pardon, him, in my bag and I never miss a chance to shoot something. Therefore, this weekend, which was a very busy one ( like most of my weekends, actually), I took advantage of the many activities and snapped some pics. Random things, like painting my nails or getting a new phone case ( yes, I am suddenly growing very fond of this kind of things, even if it means waiting one month and a half for them to arrive from Japan) are now so much more interesting. Also, taking pictures of food went to a whole new level.
But there were some highlights I couldn't capture in pictures, though. First of all, my beloved Johnny didn't capture the insightful message of Kafka's Trial when I went to see the play at the Danubian Theater Festival that took place this week in my hometown, nor the joy on my face when Prince-Charming brought me not one, but two wishing bracelets. Having remembered how much I had talked about them and how much I wanted one made my day.
Also, having some time on my own to simply lay in bed, check a magazine ( in which, as you can see, I appear as one of the finalists for Avantaje, a Romanian's women magazine) and catch up with friends has been a heavenly gift, especially now when I'm working on the biggest project of my life so far : Fash. Magazine. This is the baby of all my fashion fetishes and ideas, an online magazine created with love by me and some of my closest and, obviously, most talented and fashionable friends. You should check the Facebook page and await its launch at the beginning of November.

Oxblood

As I was saying in my last post, it's autumn, my "mature" season. During September, October and November I usually tend to be more responsible: be on time, manage my activities better, improve time management, involve myself in serious projects and so on and so forth. Or at least I try to. This can be perfectly shown in the rhytim of my posts and the promises I make on the Facebook. For that, I will have to apologise for the 1000th time and try to make it up in the near future. But overlooking that, my school style has kicked in with rather comfortable clothes and, introducing in this post, the hit color of the season: oxblood. Having seen this color overtaking the most famous runways only fills my heart with joy, as it's one of my favorite colors and highly compliments my skin. Also, it goes extremely well on both clothing and accesories. And not to mention on my most amazing wedges, which I got about a year ago, on the spur of the moment, with some won coupon. Who knew they'd hit it so great this fall?

Simona Semen Fall-Winter 2012

Winter is yet another step closer and with only 3 more months left until the cold month of December, summer seems now so far away. This time of the year gets me and so many more others, cynical, sarcastic and maybe depressive. It's the time my maturity reaches high levels and it always reflects in my clothing style. Each year, when school starts my shopping list includes dark shades, stiff fabrics and a whole new rather "grown-up" orientation. This autumn, the collection that came to light thanks to Simona Semen's hands is perfectly molded on this need of becoming mature, leaving the daily for a long lost paradise.
Fabrics are perfectly chosen to fulfill this need and, in my opinion, the best piece of the collection, the cut-out pants, reflect deep interior feelings of redescovering oneself.
A detail that makes this photoshoot so perfect for me is a very nice touch: the BONE accesories, designed by Ioana Liliana Gheorghe.
Heaven Inside is, indeed, a true representation of the giving up in order to reach paradise.

Colour Infusion

On the 4th of July, in the amazing decor at Gallery Penthouse, young and talented designer Sorina Banica presented her collection Colour Infusion under the E.Thula brand. The show was both an opportunity to meet fellow bloggers that I have been following for a while now and even finding out that some of them already knew about my existance in the fashion blogosphere. 

The collection was presented in a very fabulous and noncomformist way, as in models didn't stroll on a catwalk, but walked in almost unexpectedly and started dancing and mingling with the guests.

The whole evening was a mixture of glam and great taste.

New Look Romania Opening

Last night I went to my first important fashion event : New Look Romania Opening ,in Afi Palace Cotroceni. I attended the VIP party and took some pretty cute photos,though not of the highest quality.
I saw some amazingly nice clothes and I got home with some pretty hefty shopping done : a pair of leopard low heels,an armor ring, 2 pairs of opaque tights (mustard and crimson) , a silk shirt aaaand,as a gift,I got a really cute golden bracelet. (see my latest shopping aquisitions in my next post).
The place was filled with celebrities, champagne and little fancy snacks .
Though the event was so glamorous and I liked it so much,I didn't really speak to anyone in the Romanian blogosphere, probably because I was so shy ,but next time I promise I'll walk up and talk to other bloggers :)

Last,but not least, I adored the show(s) . Yes , there was a fashion show, constituted of New Look's lookbook and a concert : The Moood. And I must say,those guys are really good !

I'm back !

Hey,guys ! Summer's great !

But I want,first of all, to apologize for not posting in the past few weeks. I have been away for most of the time and since I came back, I've been doing paperwork and working out and tons of other boring stuff so I haven't been able to update.

Second , I got this cute email from Maxence that invited me to join So Stylish , a platform for outfit posting, something like lookbook. I've joined this morning and I can feel the fashion vibe already !

And last,but not least, for these amazing Romanian fashionistas , New Look is coming to town ! The big opening will be on the 26th of August at Afi Palace Cotroceni , then on the 1st of September in Baneasa Shopping City.
Prices will be amazing : they start form 89 RON for dresses, 49 RON for Jeans and 89 RON for jackets ! Plus,they promise up to 200 new clothing articles each week !

I am so sorry for not being as active as I should, but I've been a little sick and headaches mixed with final exams don't make a great cocktail !

The weekend's been amazing !I attended my first fashion event ever ! I've been to Fashion Boutique this weekend and I've met Ana Maria Morodan from High Street Cardigans and she's so incredibly nice ! Also,I admired her dress collection , Snobbish Breakfast .
