The last leaf

The Shoe Pendant

It's been more than two weeks since I stepped ( more or less gracefully) on the steps of the restaurant where our Senior Prom was held. It is only now that I am realizing how fast time goes and how time is probably the only thing I don't have right now. Being burried under piles of endless finals material with a desire to pump caffeine through my entire system, I want to take the time and acknowledge the times that have passed, just to make a clean slate to the ones that are coming.

What was highschool for me? Probably what it was for most of the people in the world: 4 years filled with (unfounded) drama, delightful (and not so delightful) new experiences, new friends, best friends, frenemies (*wink*) and body image issues ( was I too fat?). It was a great life experience, though probably not the best so far, but I do have to give it some credit for getting me together with some of my best friends and Prince Charming ( yes, the people I adore with all my heart). It tought me how to experience intense feelings (not only thanks to Prince Charming *wink again*), but also to the people that thought me there was a reason fairytales were written: to put the bad guy to sleep!

But about Prom night? It was loads of fun (though a little short-cut if you ask me), it gave me and my besties to feel like princesses for a night and wear long, sexy gowns (though mine was probably the most nerve-wrecking experience I've had), luxurious hairstyles and ravishing make-up. The photos are proof of how well we felt and we can only wish to have the same impressions after our 10-year reunion (which I cannot wait for more than this!!!).

All in all, it's been a fun set of years and we can now only ask ourselves what our future (and our finals) has set up for us.

The limit of adulthood

Photobucket

I give a special significance to dates and events and this year was not an exception. On the most perfect 21st of January, this year, I turned 18, embracing therefore, the first step into adulthood.
I had given it a lot of thought, but never did I think it would really change my perspective on life. Becoming able to vote has given me another sense of responsability and of understanding of my mistakes.
But as life goes, I have not become of an age that inabilitates me to make mistakes, nor to try making any, but to realise that making mistakes is a way to learn.
In another manner of thought, by realising something like this can be dangerous, but even the mistakes I make during typing or while I was dancing at my party have, in spite of me being aware of it or not, an effect of present and future me.
Needless to say, even though I am an adult now and my state trusts my capacities of drinking, driving and voting( therefore deciding in one way or another, my country's fate), I am still a child, a lover of the arts and a dedicate fashion blogger, desperately trying to prove myself in the world I live in and insisting on sharing my ideas and rambling to anyone, even more to those that are there to hear.

I wish for a better me to come with the new stage on which I have embarked and that what matters to me most to stay with me for the rest of my life.

New beginnings and fresh starts

Photobucket

It's been exactly a month since my last post and I must say that, even though this pause hadn't been planned, it came pretty much in handy! I've realised what I want from my blog and where I want to take it.
Besides that, it's been a heck of a holiday, with the most amazing Christmas and the most wicked New Year's Eve. I hope you all the best wishes for this new year and hope to grow along with all of you and meet as many wonderful people as I can.
I leave you with the photos I have from NYE and hope to get the ones from Christmas soon enough!

Friends become strangers...

Photobucket

As I have said on my Facebook page here, inspired by StyleScrapbook's flash series, I decided to have some posts of my own and I chose 3 friends that have a special talent for blushes and eyeshedows to do my make-up for some special Friday posts :) Photos from this first part are taken by Cristina Ciulacu.
Make-up by Gratiela Cune.
